We are an academic institution in the University of Fribourg active in teaching, research and continuing education in informatics and business informatics.

Due to the fact that our department is associated with two faculties (the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Science) we develop an "integrative view" of informatics. We offer our students two complete bilingual study programmes, one on informatics and the other on business informatics. Each of these two profiles, however, benefits from the experience of the other. Thus our teaching programme may be considered unique in Switzerland.
